Fellow Rhode Island firearms enthusiasts, thanks for stopping by my new blog. Today we are facing the possibility of new restrictions being placed on our right to keep and bear arms. That cannot be allowed to happen.
The Rhode Island state constitution states plainly and unambiguously that the state government may not infringe upon our rights to firearms. Article I, Section 22 reads:
Right to bear arms. — The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
It doesn’t get much clearer than that. Rhode Islanders should demand that their representatives and senators abide by the state constitution and keep their hands off our rights.
In order to do that, Rhode Island gun owners, firearms enthusiasts, sportsmen (and women), and anyone else who believes in freedom must band together to fight restrictions on law abiding citizens’ rights to own firearms.
I hope www.rigunblog.com will become a rallying point in this fight, and a source for information, sharing and cooperation among the many stakeholders in the state.
Thanks for visiting, and please return for a lot more to come.
