Last year when we battled potential bans on firearm rights in RI we often found a lack of support from the hunting community. Many hunters and leadership of hunting organizations did step up and testified against the “black gun” bills at our state house, but we expected much more support. This year the first anti-gun bill submitted should be the second part of the two part epoxy needed to glue us all together. We need to step up as a hunting and shooting community to draw the line so thick and dark that no legislator would dare to cross it again. We need you ready to show up at the state house with testimony in hand. Many people have a fear of speaking in public and are intimidated to testify at our state house, but RI Gun Blog will do everything we can to help you prepare. If you have concerns grab the keyboard and contact me at RIGunBlog@gmail.com. I will personally proofread your testimony, give pointers and meet you at the state house. DEM is also on our side and will testify against the bill !!
Please send an email to the bills sponsor and POLITELY tell him to you are against the bill and want it withdrawn.

This bill is testing the waters, no pun intended. There is no legal reasoning to impose this ban other than noise. If this were to pass how long would it take for legislators to write bills against all forms of hunting and shooting sports based upon noise complaints.
CHALLENGE : We are raising awareness about this upcoming hearing by sporting orange hunting hats. It doesn’t matter the type of hat but please wear a florescent orange hat for at least the next few weeks. We are hoping this will prompt the conversation as to why you are wearing it. Be loud and clear that the right to bird hunt in Narragansett Bay is in jeopardy because some people do not like the noise !! This is serious. If we lose this right it will be nearly impossible to retrieve it.
We will keep you updated at www.rigunblog.com and on our Facebook page, so please share us with your friends.
